Our shop story dates back to the year 1823, when our forefather, Abdul Haq, started the making of bangles in a hut near the banks of Yamuna. At that time there was not much variety of bangles. Moreover, there were no shops for the sale of bangles. He used to move from one door to another in search of customers. This continued for almost four generations, until the fifth generation progeny of our long illustrious chain of bangle sellers, named Md. Ibrahim decided to open the shop by the name of "Babu Churiwala" at Ballimaran street of Chandni Chowk, in the year 1947. When Queen Victoria came to India, Md. Ibrahim's great grandmother went to adorn her hands with the home made bangles. The delighted queen awarded the family with a house in Mohalla Churiwalan, a place then occupied by bangle makers. It took a span of 180 years for a small, often neglected, unrecognised bangle store of Delhi's Ballimaran street to become the only one with a reputation and good name spread far and wide. The present shop at Central Market, Lajpat Nagar was opened by the owner, Md. Irshad in the year 1989. At present, this the only outlet as other outlets are no longer functional. All the designs are personally designed by the family on the computer followed by bringing them to life by creative hands. In the year 2009, his eldest son, Md. Talib (the seventh generation progeny) joined the family venture followed by his youngest son, Md. Yasir.
